My Top 5 Favorite Multi-Platform Note-Taking Apps

Discover my five favourite note-taking apps that help me stay productive throughout the day. As a product designer who has spent years focusing on productivity apps, I believe it’s important to explore various tools to find the perfect fit for your needs. In this article, I will delve into the features of each of these multi-platform apps.

Bear

Bear is a straightforward and user-friendly note-taking tool that can help you stay organized throughout your day. The navigation and user experience in Bear is incredibly easy and intuitive, making it a seamless transition for those familiar with the Note app on Mac. The simplicity of the markdown-based editor is a standout feature, allowing for easy formatting without any unnecessary complications. With the option to use tags, creating a structured system for your notes is a breeze. Additionally, the wide range of themes and customization options, such as adjusting typography, colours, and even the app icon, allows you to personalize your experience to suit your preferences. Overall, Bear is a versatile and efficient tool for anyone looking to streamline their note-taking process.

Supernote

Supernote is a user-friendly app that is based on markdown, making it easy to use for note-taking. One standout feature is the ability to link notes to your calendar, which can help with organisation. Tags are also available for easier navigation, and the option to visualise notes in a 2D or 3D graph view adds a unique touch. While I personally didn’t find a need for this feature, it can be useful for visual learners. The overall look and feel of the app is sleek and navigation is intuitive, making it easy to adapt to. However, I found that the app lacked some advanced features that I needed. Despite this, I would still recommend Supernotes as a quick and efficient note-taking tool.
